Summer: The Love My Dress Blog Summer Soiree

Hello everyone!

As you may notice, this is my first blog post in quite some time; please accept my apologies!

I’ve been out of the loop a bit lately; I’ve been working hard at my day job, I’ve been away a bit, I’ve been working on some special things, I’ve moved flats, I’ve emptied a house into a storage unit, and I’ve been planning my big trip away across the atlantic. That all combines to being quite busy and neglecting my blog a bit.

I do however have a lot of work to show you! So I’m going to start with something that I have mixed feelings about (not the event, I mean my photography).

Lately I’ve been shooting with film a lot; I love film! However, I made a bit of a schoolboy error by going to a party without fully knowing how to use the camera (I’m going with the excuse that it’s very old but very new to me!)… so I ended up leaving it on shutter priority at 250th/second all night. Basically the film was almost entirely black when I got it developed! Couple that with an old manual focus camera and it means a lot of the photo are (what I like to call) perfectly imperfect.

The photos were of something that I was really excited about… the amazing Love My Dress Blog Summer Soiree!

When I got that email from from Sachin Khona and Kelly and Paul Clapperton. We had a bit of a walk around Newcastle (very cool city by the way, especially down by the waterfront!) and then met up with Dominique Shaw and went for some dinner before heading across the water to the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Arts to embark on a fabulous evening of glamour, gorgeousness, vintage, stylish folk, fun and frolics!

Annabelle really did put on a an incredible evening! I met some wonderful and lovely people, and it was so much fun!

So I want to share with you a few photos from the night. These are the ones I’ve managed to salvage (to an extent) from my own silly mistake.

I really hope to stay in touch with everyone I met that night, and hope you enjoy these photos.

Speak to you soon,

Much love,

Will x

P.S. you may notice that my ugly mug is in a couple of these; I didn’t take them obviously!

Thanks for this blog post Will!

I am so pleased you were able to come, I love how the soiree connected so many people from all over the UK in such a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Thanks for sharing your film photographs too! Perhaps you could try taking more at the 2012 soiree ;)

Much love,

Annabel xXx
